Gary has spent most of his life in Colorado. Graduating from Greeley Central High School, Gary continued his education at the University of Northern Colorado. Along with the 9th and Lincoln Orchestra, Gary performs in a diverse collection of Colorado-based ensembles such as Quemando, the Colorado Jazz Orchestra, and the 9th and Lincoln Orchestra. Along with countless other classical, jazz, and latin groups, Gary has appeared with such groups as the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra and the “Rat Pack is Back” show from Las Vegas. In addition to bass trombone, Gary plays the tenor trombone, euphonium, tuba and has a studio of students ranging from young beginners to adults. Gary and Tyler Gilmore attended the University of Northern Colorado together at one point, even performed at an IAJE conference in Long Beach, CA together.
