
David received his BM degree in Jazz Studies from Wayne State University in Detroit (99) while studying and performing with renowned trumpeter Marcus Belgrave. He went on to receive his MM in Trumpet Performance at the University of Colorado working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant to Terry Sawchuk (2006). Although a Michigan native, David’s fine trumpet playing has made him well traveled, as he has performed not only throughout the U.S. and Canada, but also Mexico, and much of Europe as well. With over 10 years of professional experience he has performed and recorded with artists and groups as diverse as The Temptations, The Vervepipe, David Liebman, Rob McConnell, Charlie Persip, San Juan Symphony Orchestra, Leslie Gore and Tom Harrell. In addition, David’s various studio recordings have been featured on numerous commercials and programs for several national television and radio stations. David currently resides in Denver, where he keeps an active performance and teaching schedule while pursuing his DMA in Jazz Studies at the University of Colorado under the studies of Brad Goode.
